Croydon has a bad reputation for being ugly, built up and a monument to tarmac and concrete.
And it is.
Knowing this, how is it that this is also Croydon?
In a few short weeks, the ground will be covered in a carpet of bluebells and wood anemones.
I often find it hard to believe that there is this amount of green in the borough. I've found a lot more of it through geocaching. Apparently, Croydon has 19 ancient woods above 2 hectares (no, I have no idea what this means either) and has some of the finest examples of ancient woodland in London.
It also has some of the, ahem, finest examples of 1970s architecture but we'll gloss over that.
I have really enjoyed reading through your blog.
