Birthday Bunny

Snow!
Today, BabyDragon was 6. By some cruel quirk of fate, it snowed heavily overnight and unfortunately meant we had to postpone her party. Cue floods of tears and a swift lesson in the difference between "postponed" and "cancelled". Presents went some way to mollifying her though and, after a spot of sledging and a manic show fight, all was well.

SmallDragon#1 learnt a valuable lesson: do not throw a pathetic snowball at your mother when she has a snow shovel full of snow in her hands.

Birthday Bunny
My favourite of the  birthday gifts was a white crocheted bunny. I'd had the yarn for this in my stash since just before Christmas but not had the time to make it. I had spotted the pattern for the One Skein Bunny on one of my my trawls through the patterns on Ravelry. I crocheted her in Sirdar Supersoft Aran which seemed to have the right balance of firmness and softness. If I were to make her again, I think I would make her legs a good inch or so shorter. Rebecca Rabbit was crocheted over a number of nights after BabyDragon had gone to bed or when she was at her father's.

SmallDragon#1 had been given the task of buying something for her whilst out in town the day before. I'm not entirely sure what I had in mind, perhaps a stuffed unicorn or something similarly cure, but what he came back with was a box of 12 cookies. He ws happy with his choice, BabyDragon was happy with his choice, even SmallDragon#2 was happy with his choice. Sticking a 6 candle onto the plate of cookies saved me from having to bake her a birthday cake so even I was happy with his choice!
