| More like a scarf at the moment |
I have finally got round to starting my blanket. I've had the yarn (no, it's not wool apparently as it doesn't come from a sheep) for ages but there has always been something else to do. I bought the yarn sometime last summer in a sale - cotton kapok and gorgeously soft.
So, using a pattern from Attic24, I am making a ripple blanket. The thought of crocheting the horrendously long starting chain has always made this something I've wanted to do but was too scared to try. This is by far the biggest whole thing I've made - usually I just make squares or little things. Still, one child free evening I sat down and crocheted my starting chain - somewhere in the region of 260 chains. Eeek!
This is going to be my blanket. No sticky child fingers will be allowed to touch it or spill stuff on it on pain of death.
It will be snuggly.
It will be gorgeous.
And did I mention it will be mine?
I do have plans for a blanket the SmallDragons can touch. However, it will be wonderfully garish so as to hide the stains more easily.
